Malicious users create thousands of computer viruses, worms and other threats and release them in the network. Therefore, to make your computer more secure and becoming infected, you should have anti-virus program installed on your machine.

However, if you have not updated your computer and anti-virus scanner, it would be of no use in defending the viruses' attack.
